China to import more agricultural products from Cambodia

Phnom Penh: The President of China said that China will import more agricultural products from Cambodia to implement the free trade agreement between the two countries effectively and contribute to reducing poverty in Cambodia.

This statement was made during a telephone discussion between Prime Minister Hun Sen and Chinese President Xi Jinping on 18 March 2022.

The Chinese president said that now that the free trade agreement is in place between Cambodia and China, China will import more rice. At the same time, China will also import some agricultural products such as bananas, mangoes, and lentils to help reduce poverty in Cambodia.
